Fossil Marine Reptile
Upp. Cretaceous (80 million years) age
Khouribga Plateau, Morocco
A "dinosaur" that swam, having adapted legs into flippers (similar to the evolution of whales.) With a sturdy neck and skull up to 6ft long, Mosasaurs were major predators in the Cretaceous seeas. Pterogoid (throat) teeth helped prevent prey from escaping.
