This fossilized crab from Madagascar (Macrophthalmus sp). is amazing! Little is known about their locality, except that they come from the former Mahajanga Province. (Known as Majunga Province, in colonial French.) They date from the Pliocene Epoch (2.58-5.33 million years ago). This perfectly preserved specimen is mounted in a protective Plexiglas and wood display case measuring roughly 7x6.5x7".
